As with all other musicians, our 2020 plans went up in smoke with the lockdown that saw all our venues closed. As I write in 2021, venues are beginning to open on a seemingly tentative basis, and sadly some venues have closed altogether.
You can see us playing live in the rehearsal room if you go there now.
We are ready play for you once again after the tragic situation which none of us could have foreseen during the autumn of 2021, it's just a matter of finding opportunities to play in venues that are open. Please get in touch if you would like to book the band or want to put us in touch with any venues you know are looking for top class entertainment.
Comprised of experienced musicians, 52nd State came together with a desire to make great music and to be different.
Of course all bands say they are different, but we have set out to be radically different, with our repertoire chosen from the broad category of Americana and New Country.
Please make sure to listen to our recordings further down this page to get a flavour of what we do and how we do it. We are always looking for new venues to play, so if you have one and want something different then do get in touch.
The driving ambition behind the band is the desire to play GREAT music, that will engage and please any audience. Performing to a high standard we will surprise you and have you dancing before you know it.
We played at the 2019 Mangotsfield Festival and you can see pictures of the event here: Mangotsfield festival images (scroll to the lower section)
Our repertoire includes music from:
The Brothers Osborne
Jo Dee Messina
...and more is being added all the time.
Here are some samples of us playing - just simple, honest recordings of us playing live, recorded with a Zoom hand held recorder.
